Madhavrau Scindia Memorial Charitable Trust
is formed with the objective

  •  

To establish Medical, Technological and other institutions to provide quality education for the financially and socially under privileged in the state of Kerala.

  •  

To start Law Colleges, Management Institutions, Residential Schools and Technical Training Institutions for the benefit of the labour class.

  •  
Create awareness among people about AIDS, ill effects of alcoholism and drugs by organising programmes and counselling.  Also start awareness clinics for educating the public about occupational hazards that they come across in their day-to-day routine.
  •  

To start small scale industries for creating job opportunities for women specially from the labour class families, educated youths in alliance Government bodies like Social Welfare Board, Khadi Board etc.

  •  

To develop infrastructure to publish books, dailies periodicals and to distribute educational materials for the students.

  •  

Conduct discussions, symposiums and seminars of international standards on a regular basis to create awareness about the changes and developments in the global market, the social financial and cultural problems faced by the labours.  Establish world standard training institutions for the benefit of the workers, the employees and the employers.

  • To recognise, identify, encourage and aid the children of labourers and help them excel in their respective talent.

  • With participation of the shareholders, building housing complexes, industrial estates, shopping complexes, working women's hostels, student's hostels, auditoriums, etc.  Set up retail outlets, similar to 'margin free shops'.

  • To start orphanages, old age homes and rehabilitation centres for beggars with the participation of the Government and NGOs and to make available ambulance, treatment and medicines free of cost.

  • The latest initiative of the trust is open a 40 bed speciality hospital in Kannur named after the departed leader.

Hon'ble MLA Mr.Sudhakaran inaugurating the 2nd Anniversary Celebration of Madhavrau scindia Hospital on 10-1-06.  The second anniversary is a 4 day programme, which will end on 14th of Jan 06.


Moreover, the below mentioned are some of the charitable activities that the trust is engaged:

Year 2006

  1. On 11th January, 2006 a free blood group detection camp was organized in Madhav Rau Scindia Hospital Premises, in which 250 people were able to check their blood group.

  2. On 12th January, 2006 an awareness camp regarding dental care was organized at Rama Vilasam U.P school, Pallikkunnu, which was presided by Dr.Raveendranath and Dr. Anil Kumar, in which 300 students were given free checkup. 

  3. On 13th January 2006 a diabetic camp was conducted in Madhava Rau Scindia Hospital in which 80 patients were able to know about their blood sugar level and in the evening a seminar was  conducted at Sangeetha Kalakshetra Auditorium by tying up with Life Essence Academy, New York and Rishi and Sanskrit Vidya Kendram, Bangalore.  The programme was inaugurated by P.Ramakrishnann, Chairman, Handloom workers development board.  The topic about diabetes was presented by Dr.Bhavani Prasad, Hyderabad.  In this programme about 150 people participated.

  4. On 14th January, 2006 Asthma Allergy Clinic was inaugurated by the Municipal Chairman Sri.K.Upendran and awareness class was taken by Dr.Reetha, MD, DCH in which free treatment were given to 60 children.

  5. On 14th January, 2006 Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana award winner Sri.Karayil Sukumaran was honored in public function  by Municipal Chairman K.Upendran.

  6. On 12th March, 2006 a free eye medical camp was conducted by the famous Ophthalmologist Dr.V.A Jaison and his team of doctors for Auto drivers of Kannur at Jyothis Eye Care, Kannur which was inaugurated by Dr.Ram Mohan.  This programme was organised in association with the 61st birth day of Sri.Madhav rau scindia.

  7. On 14th March, 2006 a traffic awareness class was conducted at Sangeetha Kala Kshetram Auditorium inaugurated by Mr.A.M Mathew Poly Carp, IPS Supt. of Police, Kannur.  Felicitation was given by Mr.Dinesh Puthalath, Motor Vehicle Inspector and P.Unnikrishnan Sub Inspector of Police, Traffic.

  8. On March 14th Tuesday Madhavrau Scindia Obituary Ceremony was conducted, which was inaugurated by Sree.Mullapally Ramachandran, Ex-Union Minister.

  9. On Aug 9,2006 which is the Quit India Day,1250 uniforms were distributed to poor students studying at various schools in Kannur.  Distribution was done by KPCC president, Sri. Ramesh Chennithala.

  10. On Sept 4th 2006, 100 Onam Kits were distributed at Samajwadi Colony, Kannur by the former minister Sri.N.Ramakrishnan.  The function was inaugurated by Sri.Kadannappally Ramachandran MLA.

Apart from the above we are giving free treatment/concessions to the poor parients at Madhava Rau Scindia Hospital.  Our charges in the hospital is minimum.


Year 2003 - 2005

  1. In 2003, Nov 2nd, a free medical camp was conducted in Kannur for the motor vehicle employees and their family.

  2. On Nov 16th 2003, a free medical awareness camp was conducted at a remote village in Kannur named Meenkunnu.

  3. By tying up with Sarvashiksha Abhiyan Block Resource Centre, 50 children were supplied with spectacles and 25 were supplied with earphones.

  4. On January 4th 2004, a free medical camp was conducted in Thillannur Library.

  5. In Paniyannur, were most of the inhabitants are tribals, a free medical camp was organized to create awareness about viral decease in the minds of people.

  6. On August 14th 2004, the formal inauguration of the free food supply to poor patients of govt. hospital was done by Sri.Vanidas elayavoor.

  7. Swathanthra Smrithi Sadassu was conducted on Aug 15th 2004 and in the same function, freedom fighters were honored.

  8. On September 30th 2004, in association with the 4th death anniversary of our late leader Sri. Madhavrau Scindia, free school uniforms were supplied to 1000 poor students.

  9. In 2004 a ten-episode tele serial was sponsored by our hospital regarding traffic rules and regulations named "Traffic Suraksha Manava Suraksha".

  10. On Jan 26th 2005, free medical camp was conducted in Chovva Ganapathyvilasam L.P School.

  11. On March 14th 2005, in association with the 60th birthday of Sri.Madhavrau Scindia, Mr.Raghavan, who won the Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana Award, was honored.

  12. On May 29th 2005, free medical camp was conducted by tying up with Priyadarshini Arts and Sports Club.

  13. On Aug 15th 2005, old freedom fighters were honored.

  14. On Aug 15th free blood group detection camp was conducted and a blood donors group was formed out by tying up with Priyadarshini Arts and Sports Club, Koyyod.

  15. On Aug 19th free medical camp is conducted in Manniary Colony by tying up with Youth Congress, Manniary.

  16. On Oct 13th free blood group detection camp was conducted by tying up with Keeleri brothers club, Chettipeedika, Kannur.

  17. On Nov 13th, by tying up with Koodali Rotary Club and Jyothis Special School, Kottayam, free consultation for children affected by cerebral palsy was conducted and a awareness program about the disease is conducted for their parents.

  18. On December 12th 2005, free fileria detection camp was organized in Valapattanam, Kannur.
